What to Expect

At River City Church we are after authenticity – about being real people that are a close knit community. We are honest about identifying ourselves as a bunch of fallible messes that find our only hope in the beauty of Jesus Christ and his finished and complete work on the cross. We are husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, singles, college-students, machinists, architects, software engineers,  and hall directors. We are linked and held together around our love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are not perfect but we know Jesus is. We are keenly aware that we are all broken and in equal need for grace. That grace comes to us in the Gospel of Jesus and it is our only hope of transformation and a change of our hearts. We hope you’ll join us.

Other Details of our Gatherings

Our Gatherings will focus on being Gospel-Centered….this means that all that we do should be centered on and should flow from the Good News of Jesus Christ and His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, intercession, and triumphant reign over Satan, sin, and death. Our preaching, teaching, music, and interaction should all be about Jesus.

We’ll take communion during most Gatherings
to focus on our need for repentance and to remember the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed and exchanged His perfect life for our sin. This meaningful time has been part of the church ever since Jesus instituted it with his first followers. This time isn’t supposed to be over-dramatic or weird, but to be about the family of God coming together to share and worship together.

We don’t want your money, but Jesus does. If you are not a Christian, or are our visitor we don’t want your money….we want to serve you. If you are a Christian we see giving as a sacrificial act of obedience to Jesus and the work of His church. He is the Senior Pastor and by giving you are supporting Jesus and the advancement of His Kingdom.
